Sinopec discovers super large gas field in Chongqing
A subsidiary of China Petrochemical Corporation, also known as the Sinopec Group, has discovered a super-large gas field in Chongqing in southwest China, xinhuanet.com reported Monday, citing a statement from the group.
Sinopec group estimates that the gas field contains a reserve of 120 billion cubic meters of natural gas. It may be the largest gas field in Asia, Sinopec employees said.
The company anticipates beginning drilling in the field soon.
